Ladies of Divine Mercy – Sr. Elizabeth Castro

Topic:Our Blessed Mother Mary first tabernacle of Our Lord,
the importance of the frequent visits to Jesus in the tabernacle

Bio:

Sister Elizabeth Castro, H.M.S.P. is a member of the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Word. Her Religious community was founded in Mexico City by an Italian priest, Fr. Luigi Butera. The Order is already serving the Lord worldwide and counts already with a Pontifical approval since 2008. 

Sister Elizabeth is a native of Mexico City, and she became a US citizen in 2013. She made her perpetual vows in October 2008. 

Prior to becoming a religious Sister she was an athlete in the sport of figure skating. Sister Elizabeth’s goal was to continue working hard and one day participate in the Olympics. It was also Sister Elizabeth’s plans to enter aviation school to become a pilot. But God always works in mysterious ways. Sister Elizabeth was injured in her training, and God then called her to the Religious Life. She was 17 years old when Sister Elizabeth received the strong call to serve the Lord and His Church. 

After finishing high school, Sister Elizabeth joined her Religious Order for spiritual, intellectual, moral and pastoral formation. 

Currently, Sister Elizabeth is the Director of the Office for Religious of the Diocese of Providence, and coordinates sacramental preparation programs, liturgical ministries, Bible studies and outreach for evangelization at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Providence, RI. Before this appointment in the Diocese of Providence she served in New Hampshire at two different parishes.

Knights of Divine Mercy – Fr. Philip Dufour

Topic: “Eucharistic Revival and True Active Participation in Holy Mass”

Bio:

Fr. Dufour grew up in Bristol and graduated from Bishop Stang High School in 2010. He entered Our Lady of Providence Seminary that Fall and began studies in Philosophy at Providence College, graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts. Bishop Tobin assigned him to the Pontifical North American College in Rome, where he obtained a Baccalaureate of Sacred Theology from the University of St. Thomas Aquinas in 2017. After ordination to the priesthood at the Cathedral in Providence in June of 2018, Fr. Dufour returned to Rome to complete his studies in spiritual theology, finishing with the degree of Licentiate of Sacred Theology from the University of St. Thomas Aquinas. He was assigned as Assistant Pastor at St. Philip Parish in Greenville from 2019 to 2023. This past July, Bishop Henning assigned Fr. Dufour as Pastor of St. Theresa Parish and St. Christopher Parish in Tiverton. Fr. Dufour is also the Coordinator for the Eucharistic Revival in the Diocese of Providence.
