The work of the Charity Appeal

If you gave to our in-pew collection last Sunday, Thank you! Your gift helps so many people who are in need. The funds collected go to the aid of over 33 ministries in the Diocese of Providence. Through our donations, over 100,000 people – poor, homeless, students, seminarians, young and old. People of every background. Both Catholics and non-Catholics are assisted through the generosity of the Catholic Charity Appeal.

If you have not given yet, I invite you to consider the many ways our Lord has been generous to you and how you can help those who are in need at this time. Over the weekend, parishioners have asked me if the Charity Appeal is “good,” “trustworthy,” and I can say yes, without a doubt. I have personal accounts of parishioners who could not afford to fill their oil tank due to personal hardship. We called the Catholic Charity office and their tank was filled within a short time.

Donate to the Catholic Charity Appel

Don’t let the opportunity for a Lenten Charitable Act pass you buy. Whether you are able to give a large gift or small, all gifts are gratefully accepted. You can make your donation next Sunday by filling out the in-pew envelope, or do it right now by visiting the Catholic Charity website or scanning the QR code. I have great memories of the Catholic Charity Appeal as a young boy when I accompanied my father going door to door visiting parishioners of my boyhood parish. And I give every year in gratitude for all the good things the Lord has supplied for me.

Be sure to look at the video below of the St. Martin de Porres Center. This beautiful ministry is supported by the Catholic Charity Appeal.

God bless you,
Fr. Jay Finelli
