Day 54
Today, our Novena comes to a close, yet, it has only just begun. We are not meant to have little time of prayer, the whole of our lives are to be prayer. Every moment of every day is to be spent in union with God, like the Blessed Virgin Mary. She lived in God’s presence because of her perpetual “fiat,” – yes to God. “Fiat voluntarily tua.” “Thy will be done.” Eve rejected the plan of God and the gates of Heaven were closed to all of her children. The entire human race inherited the original sin and its effects through generation. Our Lady through her yes has opened the gates of Heaven. Her yes gave to us the Messiah, the Savior of God’s people. What Eve has closed, the Virgin Mary has opened. Our Lady became the Gate of Heaven through which God became man. And her yes gave man the possibility of becoming like God. Her yes gave us the hope of salvation.
