Holy Matrimony

“The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.” (CCC1601)

Preparing for your wedding at Holy Ghost. There are a few important steps to prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony. To be married at Holy Ghost, you must be an active and practicing parishioner for at least one year before booking a date in our church.

We know that many people from outside of our parish like to hold their receptions in Newport, however, with the shortage of priests, we do not accept non-parishioners for weddings. Please use the following steps in preparing for your wedding at Holy Ghost Church.
