- Sacrament of the Sick – please do not wait until the person is making their last breath. The Sacrament is to help the person in their illness, prepare their souls to meet the Lord and if God wills, bring physical healing. Call the rectory and Father will bring the Sacrament.
- Communion Calls – Currently, the Deacon and Extraordinary Ministers bring Communion to the shut-inns on Sundays following Mass. Please call the rectory and the Pastor will make arrangements. (Do not ask an Extraordinary Minister directly to go to your loved ones, ALL Communion Calls must go through the Pastor!
- Hospital Visits – Most hospitals no longer contact the parishes due to privacy concerns. Please call the rectory and Father will set up a time to make a visit.
Baptisms
- Baptisms are held by appointment on the 1st Sunday of the month, following the 10:00 AM Mass. Please call the rectory so we can schedule you for the preparation class. Parents must be actives members of the life of the Church. If you are not active, baptism may be delayed until we see your desire to pass on the faith you live.
Weddings
- To be married at Holy Ghost, either the bride or groom must be an active member of Holy Ghost. Please make an appointment with the Pastor BEFORE booking your reception.
Funerals
- To bury the dead is a corporal work of mercy. We are very pleased to hold a Mass of Christian Burial for your loved ones. All funerals must be booked through the funeral home.
- We do not permit eulogies during the funeral at Holy Ghost. The official directives given by the Church for the sacred Liturgy state: “A brief homily based on the readings is always given after the gospel reading at the funeral liturgy and may also be given after the readings at the vigil service; but there is never to be a eulogy.”
- However, we recommend that you schedule a time during the calling hours, the collation following or after the prayers at the cemetery. This will even give the opportunity for several people to speak if you wish. You may even place a notice with time the eulogy will take place in the obituary so all who wish to attend may be present.
