Our Music Director and Organist is Fran Garrepy. Fran is a very talented muscian. Her expertise will help support the Liturgy and impliment the documents of the Second Vatican Council through the latest Liturgy and music documents coming from the Vatican. Fran has been working to strengthen our choir since she began in January of 2008.
We have been working on the introduction of Latin Mass parts, as requested by Pope Paul VI when he issued Jubilate Deo on April 14, 1974. You can download the version that is inserted into our pews here.
A new page with Music guidelines for Weddings and Funerals will be coming shortly.
THE PARISH CHOIR
The Holy Ghost Parish Choir is always seeking new members. The choir sings each Sunday at the 10:00 a.m. Mass. There will also be special liturgies that will include the Choir like Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and other special liturgies of great importance. No audition is required. The only pre-requisites are:
- A love of singing
- A strong appreciation for sacred song.
- The ability to hold a tune
- A minor commitment of your time.
Choirs are traditionally formed in parishes to enhance the liturgy, via support and leading of congregational singing, and via a rich tradition of sacred choral works. Please consider being part of this sacred tradition.
INSTRUMENTALISTS
We are always interested in those who play an instrument (brass, timpani, string/violin, etc.) for special liturgies (Christmas, Easter and maybe more). This is also a leadership role. Auditions for proven proficiency (playing, sight reading) on your instrument will be required. Please contact Fran to get involved in the music ministry at Holy Ghost. You may see here following any of the weekend Masses.

Won’t you join us in our effort? Read about the mission we all share as Catholics and about the role of the Respect Life Committee here at Holy Ghost. As Catholics, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to protect the sanctity of life. The world has become a highly complex society. Many pro-life issues become obscured by this complexity, both at political and medical levels. We need to guard against complacency in the face of this challenge. A good place to start is to educate yourself on pro-life issues and on your Catholic responsibility to promote life. Listed below are a few of the many resources available to you to help you learn more.
Mission Statement
We, the Respect Life Committee of Holy Ghost Church, humbly accept our mission “to affirm that human life is a precious gift from God; hat each person who receives this gift has responsibilities toward God, toward self and toward others; and that society, through its lawas and social institutions, must protect and sustain human life at every stage of its existence”. These convictions grow out of our Church’s constatnt witness that “life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception’” (Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities: A Reaffirmation, NCCB, 4).The Committee’s main purpose is to make parishioners more aware of pro-life issues and needs, and to recruit volunteers to help meet those needs. In order to accomplish this goal the committee wll wor to:
- Promote a public information and education effort to all groups within the parish to deepen understanding of the humanit of the unborn, the sanctity of human life, the moral evil of abortion and the consistent efforts of the Church to witness on behalf of all human life.
- Promote an assist pregnancy counseling and comprehensive maternity support services, as well as post-abortion counselfing and reconciliation programs; and
- foster public awareness of the need for a constitutional amendment and other laws and policies to restore legal protection to the unborn.
We dedicate our committee to fulfill this mission under the loving patronage of Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Raised in a Christian family, she was given in marriage to a bad-tempered, adulterous pagan named Patricius. Mother of two, one of whom is Saint Augustine of Hippo whose writings about her are the primary source of our information about Monica. She prayed constantly for the conversion of her husband (who converted on his death bed), and of her son (who converted after a wild life). Spiritual student of Saint Ambrose of Milan. Reformed alcoholic.
Many people have children, family members and friends who have fallen away from the Church and live as if God does not exist. Would you like your friends and loved ones to return to and love Sacraments and the Catholic Church? There is only one answer, come and pray!
The St. Monica Guild meets in the church for prayer on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
