54 Day Rosary Novena – Day 45

Day 45

When many people talk of heaven they look up in the sky. They picture Jesus and the angels walking in the clouds. But heaven is not in place and time as we know things here on earth. You can’t get there by looking on a map and pointing at a place – “Heaven is here!” Our Lord gives us a clue of where heaven is. “The coming of the kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the kingdom of God is among you.” (Lk 17:20-12). Where among us? You can’s see or touch it. Heaven is in another dimension. It is like stepping over a line in the sand. If we could look into the spiritual realm we would see the angels, saints, and God Himself. We are blind to heavenly realities. But it is closer to us than we think. Where God is, there is heaven. If a soul is in sanctifying grace, God lives within that person.

Quotes:

“When you are before the altar were Christ reposes, you ought no longer to think that you are amongst men; but believe that there are troops of angels and archangels standing by you, and trembling with respect before the sovereign Master of heaven and earth. Therefore, when you are in church, be there in silence, fear, and veneration.” – St. John Chrysostom

“Go to your adoration as one would go to Heaven, to the divine banquet. Tell youself, “In four hours, in two hours, in one hour, our Lord will give me an audience of grace and love. He has invited me; He is waiting for me; He is longing for me.” – St. Peter Julian Eymard

“God in His omnipotence could not give more, in His wisdom He knew not how to give more, in His riches He had not more to give, than the Eucharist.” – St. Augustine
