Holy Week & Easter Schedule

crossHoly Thursday – March 23rd

  • 7:00 pm – Mass of the Lord’s Supper
  • followed by procession with the Blessed Sacrament to the Altar of Repose in the Adoration Chapel
  • Solemn Adoration until Midnight
    (The Church’s tradition is to keep company with Our Lord on the night of His suffering in the Garden of Olives. The Blessed Sacrament is closed in a tabernacle, which is surrounded with candles and flowers.)

Good Friday – March 24th

  • 3:00 pm – Stations of the Cross & Divine Mercy Novena
  • 7:00 pm – Celebration of the Lord’s Passion & Death
    (Reading of the Passion according to St. John, Solemn Intercessions, Veneration of the Cross, and distribution of Holy Communion consecrated on Holy Thursday)

Holy Saturday – March 25th

  • 8:00 pm – Solemn celebration of the Easter Vigil
    (The Church keeps Vigil, blessing of the Easter fire, preparation and blessing of the Paschal Candle, readings from the history of salvation as recorded in the Old Testament. The Churches most solemn celebration of the Holy Mass for the feast of Our Lord’s resurrection.)

Easter Sunday – March 26th

  • 7:30 am – Low Mass in the Ordinary Form (No music, no incense)
  • 9:00 am – Missa Cantata in the Extraordinary Form
  • 10:30 am – Solemn Mass in the Ordinary Form

 

* Easter Egg Hunt following 10:30 am Mass
