  • March 18 – 22, 2012 – 7:00 pm

Our mission will be conducted by Fr. David Wilton of the Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy.  During the mission, Fr. David will encourage and challenge the parish community to make a stronger, deeper personal commitment to Christ and to His Church. Among the topics he will normally speak on are: The reality of personal sin and the need for repentance, The Holy Eucharist, The Blessed Virgin Mary, The power of prayer, The Ten Commandments, Marriage and family life, and The Catholic Church.

Fr. David Wilton is a native of Natural Bridge, New York. He became a member of the Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy in 1985 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1993. He is a 1989 graduate of Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia where he studied philosophy. He studied theology at Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut.

The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the French people after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The generalate is located in South Union, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the country.
